Identity Verification

Before you can add Domain Users or perform actions that affect other users on the platform, Siperb requires you to verify your identity. This protects your users — and the platform — from unauthorised access and abuse.

Identity verification is a one-time process per account. Once verified, your account is marked as verified permanently and the Domain Users feature becomes available to you.


When it’s required

Identity verification is required for two things:

Domain Users

Adding and managing users in your domain requires verification. See Setting Up Billing → for the full prerequisites.

User-to-user interactions on the Siperb network

Siperb makes it possible for users to interact directly with one another on the platform — for example, dialling another Siperb user by name. This is done by setting up a Connection with a dial pattern that maps to another user’s SIP account details (for example, a pattern of ^bob$ that routes to Bob’s Siperb SIP address). Because this involves direct interaction between accounts, identity verification is required before these connections can be established.

You do not need to verify your identity to use Siperb as a personal softphone connecting to your own PBX.


How to complete verification

Verification is handled through the Identity Verification section at the bottom of your Billing page.

  1. Open the Admin Control Panel and navigate to Billing.
  2. Scroll to the Identity Verification section.
  3. Under User Verification, click Start User Verification. The status will show Not Verified until the process is complete.
  4. A QR code is displayed on screen.
  5. Switch to your phone and scan the QR code.
  6. Follow the prompts to photograph your government-issued photo ID (passport, driving licence, or national ID card).
  7. Submit — the verification is processed automatically.

Once complete, the User Verification status will change to Verified. The Domain Users feature will now be available in your Admin Control Panel.


What ID is accepted

  • Passport
  • Driving licence
  • National identity card

The name on the document should match the name on your Siperb account. Make sure the document is not expired and the photo is clear and unobstructed.


Privacy

Verification is processed by Stripe Identity — Siperb’s trusted payments and verification partner. Your identity documents are handled and stored by Stripe under their privacy policy. Siperb receives only a pass or fail result — not your document images or personal details.

Verification for sub-domain owners

If you are a Domain User who has been granted permission to manage your own sub-domain, the same requirement applies. Before you can add users to your own domain, you must activate billing and complete identity verification on your own account.

Each level of the platform requires its own verification — there is no inherited trust from a parent domain.


Troubleshooting

If verification fails, the most common causes are:

  • The ID document image was blurry or cropped
  • The name on the document does not match your Siperb account name
  • The document was expired

You can retry by clicking Start User Verification again from the same page. If you continue to have difficulty, contact support.
